How many people fit on a Pelican Pontoon Company boat?
Each pontoon comfortably seats up to 10 passengers, perfect for families or groups of friends heading out to Crab Island.
What rental durations do you offer?
We offer 2-hour, 4-hour, 6-hour, and 8-hour pontoon rentals. Pricing is $200 (2 hr), $300 (4 hr), $375 (6 hr), and $450 (8 hr).
What time do rentals depart?
The 2-hour rental can be booked any time of day up to 3:00 PM. The 4-hour rental departs at 9:00 AM or 2:00 PM. The 6-hour rental runs 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The 8-hour rental runs 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
What’s included with my pontoon rental?
Every rental includes the boat, a lily pad for floating in the sandbar, a stereo or Bluetooth speaker, and fuel. No surprise add-ons.
Where do we depart from?
We launch out of 80 Miracle Strip Pkwy SE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548 — a quick cruise to Crab Island and the Destin Harbor.
Do I need a boating license?
Anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 must have a Florida Boater Education Card per state law. We can point you to an online course if you don’t have one yet.
How old do I have to be to rent a pontoon?
The renter must be 18 or older with a valid government-issued photo ID.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes. A $500 security deposit per vessel is authorized at booking unless you opt into our Damage Protection plan. Any unused portion is released after a post-rental inspection.
What is Damage Protection and why should I add it?
Damage Protection is an optional add-on that covers most accidental damage during your rental. It replaces the $500 security deposit hold and gives you peace of mind on the water. You can add it during checkout.
What happens if I bring the boat back late?
A late fee of $100 per 30-minute increment applies. Any portion of a 30-minute interval counts as a full increment, so plan to be back on time.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before your arrival date for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable. If we have to call off your rental for weather, you can reschedule or get a full refund. No-shows are not refunded.
Can I bring food, drinks, and a cooler?
Yes, just no glass containers. Pack a cooler with snacks and beverages for the day on the water. Storage onboard is limited, so pack light.
What should I bring?
Swimwear, sunscreen, towels, sunglasses, a hat, and your favorite playlist. Comfortable, water-friendly attire is best. We’ll handle the boat and the lily pad.
Are pontoons easy to drive if I’ve never operated a boat?
Yes. Our pontoons are beginner-friendly and we provide a full safety briefing and operating instructions before you depart. Most guests feel confident within minutes of leaving the dock.
What if the weather is bad?
Rentals are weather-dependent for safety. If we call the rental off due to unsafe conditions, you can reschedule or receive a full refund.
Can I add a captain?
A captain can be added on request for an additional fee. Reach out at booking and we’ll arrange one for you.
